SHORT DESCRIPTION: Are you developing a new course or updating an old one? Educators are often engaged in one of those activities. Advances in technology combined with the cooperative culture of education are making a growing library of quality educational resources available to us. In 2001, a new world opened up with the release of fifty complete, online courses by M.I.T. free of charge. This included lectures, slides, readings, assignments, syllabi, etc. Other universities soon followed suit and the OpenCourseWare Consortium was born. They now have members from 46 different countries with thousands of courses – 2,000 from M.I.T. alone. This presentation will explore those resources and others you will find useful in developing quality courses. Sample courses will be examined to learn about the types of resources available. We will then introduce tools to help you locate materials that meet your specific needs.
